2 days before EOPT is hardly a good time to be blogging, I know.
But I'd just like to say that ophthalmology is great fun.
Today I saw my 2nd pterygium and was asked this favorite question by the prof: when do u operate?
Without thinking, I blurted out the answer most familiar to me: When it crosses the visual axis. Unfortunately, the look the prof shot me told me I was wrong...
But notwithstanding times like these, the doctors were approachable and keen to teach (which is perhaps the most important for me). Although my fundoscopy skills are still quite a long way from perfect, I thought that the posting had been educational in many ways.
Hopefully the next few postings will be as fulfilling.
