...is terribly boring. But sometimes interesting descriptions perk me up.

Pathology - There's too much to study! Argh!

It's that time of the year again - Christmas! There are lots of crowd-pleasing, family friendly movies out this season. Coupled with the excitement of finishing my last major posting (and nothing much else to do), I find myself watching Harry Potter and Rapunzel in a short span of a week.

Which movie did I like better?
Harry Potter for its brooding angsty outlook and its remarkably gorgeous lakeside/ forest/ grassland scenes (More for the scenery actually - I need to travel and see these places for myself - or are they just figments of my imagination?)

Rapunzel for the final cut at the end - though I thought it'd would have been better if the hair remained the only thing magical about Rapunzel (reference to the final scenes). Not everyone likes a fairytale ending, haha.

Last major hurdle of this year - pathology! 18,472,074,820,875 dislikes.

The hall was pitch black when I stumbled in. All was silent except for some Chinese music playing in the background.
I fumbled around looking for a seat before settling down comfortably in the second level of this nearly-filled auditorium. Vaguely familiar faces surrounded me. Was I in the right place?
All of a sudden, the lights went on.
And I could see the evil duo, HeiXin and Arshwin bantering on the stage, Arshwin sitting on an elaborately decorated imperial throne, HeiXin fluttering her eyelashes.
An evil plot was afoot to usurp the throne..

And this was just a small excerpt of the hour-long M4 batch production for Playhouse 2010.

The awesome props, dragon throne aside, including an amazing bridge, a painstakingly hand-painted background of the imperial hall, raised platforms for the king and his consort to stand on...

And everyone, every single one of the almost 100-strong cast including the Chinese king and his concubines, persian king and his concubines, palace maids, princes, kung-fu artist, was dressed in some elaborate form of traditional Chinese/ Persian garment or other.

The acting was awesome, the script.. well, a bit corny. But it was THE batch production of the year, and one heck of a play.

And I had just missed half of it :((
